A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney, with Reverend John Rasmussen officiating. A lunch will follow. Private family interment will be held at a later date in the Kearney Cemetery. In lieu of f lowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church education funds.
Carol was born on December 19, 1931, in Tilden, to William and Flora (Mueller) Kruger. She was the fifth of seven children. She was raised in Clearwater, and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1950. She was a lifelong Missouri Synod Lutheran. She was baptized at Immanuel Church in Tilden and confirmed at Concordia Church in Clearwater.
Carol and Bill Timm were married on January 3, 1954, in Clearwater. The couple had five children. Carol attended Norfolk Junior College, Wayne State College, and Kearney State College.
Prior to her marriage, she taught at District 112 and Park Center schools. Bill and Carol settled in Long Pine. Bill’s work with the Nebraska Public Power District then sent them to Minatare, Loup City, and Ogallala, where Carol continued teaching elementary school.
She loved learning and teaching children, especially the Language Arts. After nearly forty years in Nebraska public schools, Carol retired in 1993. The couple moved to Kearney in 1995 and to Columbus in 2022. After retirement, the couple spent many winter months in Arizonia, Texas, Florida, and California.
Carol was an active member of various church and community organizations throughout her life. She enjoyed bowling, golf, crafts, flower arranging, cooking, shopping, and playing cards.

grandchildren, DyAnna (Damon) Parks, Rachelle (Kyle) Kowalski, Capri (Ben) Klug, Laura (Steven) Cory, Catie Timm, Isaac Timm, Cally (Scott) Hurley, Andrew (Nicole) Timm, and Caleb (Kaylene) Timm; fourteen great-grandchildren with two more on the way; brother, John (Dorthea) Kruger of Lincoln; brother-inlaw, Don Maulding of Norfolk; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Eyman of Papillion, Alice Mae Gentzler of Norfolk, and Deanna (Dennis) Leffers of Littleton, Colorado; brothers in-law, Joe Timm of Valley anmd Mike Timm of Santa Barbara, California; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years; parents; parents-in-law; infant son; sons, Marty Paul and Jeffrey Jon; brothers, William Jr., Donnie, and Robert; sisters, Ruth and Bonnie; granddaughter, Andrea Marie,;and many loving brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law.
