National Volunteer Week salutes 4-H volunteers

Each year, numerous volunteers within Greeley, Howard, Sherman, and Valley counties donate their time and energy into making area communities better places to live. These volunteers will be among the millions across the country to be spotlighted during National Volunteer Week, April 20th through April 26th.

Nebraska 4-H relies heavily on volunteers to support a prosperous Central IV 4-H program. During the latest programming year, over 150 volunteers served as 4-H Club Leaders, project leaders, county fair volunteers, 4-H Council members, and in various other volunteer roles.

“4-H Volunteers are truly integral for creating intentional and positive experiences for youth statewide. Their volunteer efforts enable youth to improve decision making skills, build leadership skills and help prepare youth to be ready for future careers. 4-H volunteers are essential to helping youth find their spark,” said Jill A. Goedeken, Nebraska 4-H Volunteer Extension Educator.
