WINTER STORM

WINTER STORM
BEGINNING in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 19th, a powerful winter storm swept through Nebraska, bringing heavy snowfall and strong winds and creating hazardous conditions throughout the central and eastern portions of the state. Ice, snow, and winds that in some places exceeded eighty miles an hour wreaked havoc, including on the state’s roadways. Above, a tractor trailer fipped on its side in the south ditch just west of the Highway 68 junction along Link 82-A. The Sherman County Sheriff noted in a social media post that the pickup in the road ditch was from a “separate incident.” Photo by Michael Happ
