Curt Tomasevicz, gold medalist in the bob sled, will be the featured speaker at the thirtieth Arcadia annual family banquet. The Loup City Chamber of Commerce Presidents Banquet drew over 100 quests for the murder mystery dinner Saturday night at the Loup City Community Center. Pat Setlik was thanked for preparing the banquet for the event. Cast members were Diane Loeffelbein, Susan Day, Deb Obermiller, Janelle Mostek, Tina Chilewski, Katie Coufal, Heidi Krowlikowski, Ed Elsner, Blake Dahlberg, Pastor Shawn Kitzing, Lisa Boeke, Eric Fitzgerald, Eric Kowalski, John Ericson, Dan Day, Kirk Harrington, and Tami Coffin. Loretta Waskowiak Hulinski will celebrate her eightieth birthday with a Saturday afternoon open house at the Ashton Legion Club. The engagement picture and story of Nicole Bauer and Richard Woznick’s upcoming wedding led the social news. A photo showed the costumes Loup City Elementary School teachers wore for the Dr. Seuss “Read Across America” event. The Spartans lost 34-60 to Clearwater-Orchard (24-1) in the district finals. Brady Rohde was high scorer with twelve points. Loup City High School junior Morgan Curlo was pictured playing a flute solo during the “Iron Man” band number at the “Puttin’ on the Ritz” carry in supper and concert.
